Amir commenced his pharmaceutical education at the University of Strathclyde in 2011, achieving academic distinction throughout his degree programme. Following successful completion of his undergraduate studies and mandatory pre-registration training, he established his clinical foundation through extensive locum practice across Scotland's community pharmacy network, developing comprehensive expertise in primary care pharmaceutical services.
Subsequently, Amir acquired his first pharmacy premises in Glasgow, assuming the role of Superintendent Pharmacist. Under his clinical leadership over two years, the practice underwent significant transformation from an underutilised healthcare facility to an integral component of the local healthcare infrastructure. North Park Pharmacy now delivers essential pharmaceutical services to the community whilst maintaining collaborative partnerships with regional healthcare professionals.
Concurrently with his pharmacy acquisition, Amir pursued advanced clinical training through the Independent Prescribing programme at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. His dedication to professional development culminated in the successful attainment of his Independent Prescribing qualification, expanding his clinical scope of practice.
Amir's clinical focus evolved toward weight management therapeutics in direct response to the escalating prevalence of obesity-related comorbidities observed throughout Scotland. This clinical imperative became particularly evident during his tenure at North Park, where he identified the significant burden of weight-related health conditions within the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area. This clinical observation prompted the strategic development of NuVina as a specialised weight management service.
Amir's comprehensive background in community pharmaceutical practice, combined with his advanced clinical prescribing credentials, positions him as the primary clinical assessor for patient eligibility evaluations. This dual expertise ensures that every patient consultation receives rigorous clinical review and evidence-based therapeutic assessment.

Dr Peter Steele is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a specialist interest in head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery. After completing medical training at the University of Aberdeen in 2008, Dr Steele undertook foundation training on the west coast of Scotland, with clinical rotations in ENT surgery, neurosurgery, and the National Spinal Injuries Unit. This was followed by basic surgical training in Scotland and the pursuit of a dental degree at King's College London.
Having completed higher surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Scotland, Dr Steele now practices as a head and neck surgeon, bringing together a strong background in both medicine and dentistry with a focus on complex oncological and reconstructive cases.
Dr Steele's transition into weight management represents a natural evolution of his medical expertise. His extensive surgical background provides him with unique insights into the health complications of obesity, particularly in the head and neck region. His comprehensive understanding of complex medical conditions, combined with his experience in patient assessment and treatment planning, makes him ideally suited to evaluate weight management candidates and ensure safe, effective treatment protocols. His meticulous approach to patient care translates perfectly to the careful consideration required for weight management prescribing decisions.
